One base, every direction
Kalpitiya's kite spots spread out along a narrow peninsula between the lagoon and the open sea - flat-water islands and sandbanks to the north, wave and freeride spots closer in, and a couple of easy drive-to spots near the resort itself. Valampuri is based right in the middle of that stretch, so no spot is ever a long trip away.
Vella Island, Illimppativu Island, Uchchumuni Beach and Dream Spot sit further up the lagoon and peninsula - a short, scenic boat ride from the resort jetty.
Kalpitiya Big Lagoon, Ippantivu and Erumativu Island are nearer the resort, usually a 10-30 minute boat trip depending on conditions.
Mandal Kuda and Donkey Point are reachable by vehicle in minutes - useful on days when a boat transfer isn't necessary or convenient.

Valampuri has been an IKO Affiliated Center (No. 86041) since October 2017. Instruction follows the IKO progression from kite safety and wind basics through to independent riding at Level 3.
Radio helmet coaching means your instructor talks to you while you're on the water — not after you've already made the mistake. A rescue boat is on the water for all courses of 6 hours or more.
